Friday turned out to be a "Good Friday" for the Lady Mustangs with a convincing 14-5 win over Watertown at Hosmer Field. Although Medford was missing some key players the rest of the squad picked it up and grabbed a victory.
Monday, April 25th, The Lady Mustangs hosted the Dracut Middies to Edgerly Field. The weather was misty and damp but that didn't stop the Mustangs fire. Medford exploded for 17 goals in the blowout. The final score was 17-6. The Dracut Middies actually scored the first goal of the game and briefly lead 1-0. That lead turned out to be the only time they would have the advantage in the game. Medford tied the game at 1 and then never looked back. Every Lady Mustang played in the game and all looked great.
The wins get Medford to 7-1 overall and 2-0 in the GBL

Can You Say WOW!!!!
The Lady Mustangs needed almost the entire game, actually 49 minutes and 24 seconds to take care of the Haverhill Hillies in Haverhill on Thursday afternoon. The game was back and forth, with both teams taking and holding leads. With the game tied at 10 and 48 seconds remaining, the Hillies were awarded a free position shot on Medford goalie Rachel Keen. But wait, Haverhill was offsides and the shot would be negated. Enter Katie O'Brien.; The Senior captain was awarded the ball and the rest is the stuff of legends. She took off downfield, going through what seemed like every Haverhill defender and ultimately scoring the game winner with 30 seconds to go. Medford won the next faceoff and the rest is history!
Senior captain Mady Forcier lead all scorers wth four goals and 1 assist, Junior attack Olivia Timmins continued her scoring assault with 3 goals and 1 assist, senior Michaela Botticelli added two goals, sophomore Katherine Timmins had a goal, and as previously state O'Brien had the game winner.
Junior goalie, Rachel Keen was efficient in the win with 9 saves, many late in the game when they were really needed.
The win brings the Mustangs to 5-1 and 2-0 in the GBL.

You Can't Win Em All!!!
After convincing wins over Malden and Cambridge, the Lady Mustangs suffered their first defeat of the season at the hands of Central Catholic High School. Tuesay night on a cold and rainy field in Lawrence, Medford lost 13-5. The Mustangs are currently 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the GBL.
The game was a close one at half-time with Medford trailing 5-3, but the second half proved to be a disaster. The Lady Mustangs could not adjust to the aggressive defense that CCHS threw at them and a loss ensued.
Groundballs and midfield play were sloppy and ultimately lead to numerous fast breaks that resulted in goals.
We will bounce back.
Medford continues the road trip on Thursday at Haverhill High School 2PM Varsity game and Friday morning at Watertown High School 10AM.
The Mustangs return home to friendly confines of Edgerly Field on Saturday morning at 10 AM vs North Reading High School.
